It can be quite hard not to go Over The Top, especially when you’re desperately trying to make your writing stand out.

I’m doing a blog series right now called Taking Back The Crown. The first post is quite gory. I asked my friend to read it and she ended up laughing because it was so bloody. Not quite the effect I wanted!

I struggle with this all the time. But I do believe it’s better to overwrite and scale back while editing than to underwrite and bore your readers.

I popped over to your blog and took a peek at the most recent post of Taking Back The Crown. I’ll have to go back and start from the beginning. Looking forward to reading more.
